I am Woman, I Rise Up

This paint is a direct defiance to the oppression I experienced as a young person. Looking around me, I soon realized being a girl was the worst thing to be so I spent my youth rejection anything feminine. I endured many forms of abuse but the worst was being shamed. When I became an adult I began to realize my value as a human and as a woman. This painting is all things feminine. The water cleanses as she comes forth. I am Woman, I Rise Up
