I paint a lot of peonies, when I initially took a picture of this beautiful bloom that’s what I thought it was! That’s why I named it I am a Rose. I bet she gets confused for a peony all the time! The delicate and intricate petals deserve to be recognized for what they are. I am so proud of this painting and feel like I was able to capture her essence for all of us to enjoy long after she is gone.
